This seventh issue is the first part dedicated to landsnails. It deals with large to gigantic species from Sri Lanka, the Seychelles and Madagascar. 44 species are discussed in extenso, 1 genus and 3 subgenera are described new to science. The book counts 69 pages of text with 82 figs and 40 maps in black and white. These are followed by 44 plates A4 full colour with over 350 figures. Text by Klaus Groh and Guido T. Poppe and plates by Guido T. Poppe, Klaus Groh and Michel Charles. The work was based on major Museum collections such as the KBIN, Brussels, the MNHN, Paris, the SMF, Frankfurt, the ZMB, Berlin, the ZMH, Hamburg and BMNH, London. In addition recent extensive collections such as the one from S. Vanderhoydonck and M. Charles were used.
